20D's New Era

Hello Partners and Friends,

I have officially transitioned out of Open Door Fellowship Church and now has dedicated hours with 20D, weekly. We believe that this is our Lord’s leading and excited what He is doing with this ministry. Currently, we have combined all outreaches under the 20D banner. We are in negotiation with ODM about “Urban Immersion Outreach” in 2022. Our heart is to connect with people in public and spread the Gospel of Christ through God’s love and power. We believe that God can redeem anyone and make them useable for His Kingdom, for His glory.

In 20D’s infancy, 20D did not pay my salary. I raise 100% of it through financial partners, which are a blessing. Also, I am working a part-time job to help with his personal finances.

It’s in 20D’s heart to have a processing center in the “Metro Area” for storage of gear/van, and have a place to disciple believers. Also, it’s in our hearts to have a year-long ranch for men to be transformed. I experienced a similar model in Arkansas, years ago, where I was born again and filled with God’s Spirit. People who have given up on life, trapped in their circumstances, or completely broken need help outside of their environment. This will give us an opportunity to introduce Jesus, healing, stability, and discipleship through the 20D Ranch.

Recently, God showed 20D to focus on our “Beloved Winter Outreach” for the 2021/2022 season, then He will show us what is next. We are excited.

Blessings,
Matthew

20D Van, Praise Jesus!

I know this post is about four months too late, I apologize!

In July of 2020, 20D purchased this van from Kuni Honda for $8000. A huge THANK YOU to all who donated and made this van possible. The van is in great condition and we feel blessed our Lord open the door for this purchase.

The van has saved a lot of time, effort, and is opening new opportunities for ministry, I’m so appreciative, so so so ….. appreciative!

It’s our goal to get gear to our homeless year round (obviously especially during the winter season) and to use the van for any ministry needs.

This will be the fourth winter (second winter as 20D Ministries non-profit) in a row that I’ve been passing out items to our homeless friends when the temp hits the mid 20’s and lower at 10pm.

We were also able to use the van during 2020 warm weather to pass out hygiene items. Many homeless services were shutdown during the “lockdown”, so 20D was able to use the new van and respond, praise God!

Again, I just want to give all the praise, honor, and glory to Jesus!

Blessings and love,
Matthew

Van Fundraiser

With this 501(c)(3) being an arm to help me minister to our homeless friends, I’ve had to think of creative ways to maximize time and effort. I work a 40hr a week job at Open Door Fellowship as the Outreach Pastor and 20D is one of many outreaches that I do. (Email me for more info).

Last year I bought a 2001 Subaru from a “trusted” source and used the car to keep gear in 24/7. (I live in a third floor apartment and carrying gear up and down for the outreaches is very exhausting). A few weeks after owning the Subaru, it was broken into and three backpacks were stolen. So after learning that lesson, a supporter tinted all of my windows and I never had a problem with break-ins and another one paid for new glass window. Praise God!

However, after the Winter Outreach Season was over, I took the car in for some maintenance and it was discovered that it had two transmission leaks. Because of the age of the vehicle, to fix the seals on the transmission and to replace the drive-chain it would of been the same price I bought the car originally. So I had to take a considerable loss and traded the car to a friend for work on my personal vehicle (the Subaru was bought with my personal money).

So, I am raising money for a ministry van that is big enough to carry a lot of gear all year long (People give me more than just winter time stuff) for our friends. I have about $1200 (as of 5.25.20 we have raised $6800) in saving for the Van. My Goal is to raise $10,000 to purchase a Van that can be used for years to come for 20D and other homeless projects and ministry. Something like a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan or something comparable.

Would you prayerfully consider donating to the Van fundraiser and help save me remarkable time and energy so I can focus on passing out gear to our friends?

Thank you!
Matthew

Birth of 20d

Hello Dear Friends,

As this summer comes to a conclusion, we turn our focus to the upcoming winter season ahead of us and the thought of our friends living on the streets during dangerous weather. This outreach originally began as a labor of love during winter of 17/18 and now has become a ministry.

I can vividly recall the night in downtown Denver coming home from a late job at 3:30am. The temperature was 10 degrees and a friend gave me a box of hand warmers to give out. I drove up to a crowd of 20 people not realizing there was only two hand warmers left in the box. Rolling down the window I asked if anyone wanted the hand warmers. People began to rushed my car so I threw the hand warmers out a window towards someone and drove off.

That experience took place during freezing wintery night of 2016. It has forever marked me to the point that I will never forget what took place that evening. Every detail has been burned in my soul. I’ve purposed that the next winter season there would be enough items to pass out to make a real impact. A couple years later 20D Ministries was born.

I invite you to join the cause in helping sustain human life during the most dangerous weather by giving items, donating, and/or going out on a outreach with me. Together, we can make a direct impact in helping those who need it the most.

Finally, let me say that just because people have some gear doesn’t mean it’s enough to keep warm.

Blessings,
Matthew
